I'd really like to thank Kat for taking her time i've been waiting so long to interview her and finally we sat down and did it! so enjoy!!
Tyress: I've been looking forward to this day as Kat is one of my idols at DCWF for her hard work and her stepping up to keep DCWF alive under its hardship
Give us a small introduction about yourself.
Katheryn Blackadder: My name is Katheryn Blackadder, or Kitty Kat, and I've been in SL a little over 5 years now, and about 4 1/2 of those years have been with the DCWF
Tyress: i think i saw you in SLCW one time. xD when Eric brought me there from Seth's club
If you have a Stage/Nickname, how did you come about it?
Yes, the DCWF started out as the SLCW, until Second Life clamped down on the usage of their name or initials in company names. Speaking of Eric, he dubbed me Kitty Kat, but I always wanted Jungle Kat to be my inring name, because I'm a leopard and all.
why did you pick a Leopard?
Katheryn Blackadder: I had created the leopard avatar for fun, because I love being a neko. But then I started thinking how could I best use this av, and wrestling came to mind.
Tyress: thats a pretty interesting idea you came up with
Katheryn Blackadder: I think the idea struck when I was building my neko AO and found body builder animations.
How did you find out about Second Life and made you join?
Katheryn Blackadder: I love playing The Sims, and I heard about SL on LiveJournal, my friends were discussing it. I thought it'd be like the Sims only I'd get to talk to other people instead of myself.
Tyress: seems The Sims is giving alot of the female wrestlers and staff members out there their way to find SL
How did you find out about SL Wrestling and how did you come to join it?
Katheryn Blackadder: Well, I'd built this macho leopard woman av, with the body builder animations, and I was working at a "newbie friendly hang out" as a volunteer. It didn't seem to fit. So I started thinking what would be a better fit, and did a search for wrestling. SLCW was the first hit.
What made you decide to join SL Wrestling?
Katheryn Blackadder: I'll tell you what I told Alpin Criss when he asked me that: I was a frustrated housewife with a lot of aggression to work out. That probably wouldn't fly on an application today, but it was good enough back in the day.
Tyress: Wow thats quite a reason to join what was Alpin's Reaction?
Katheryn Blackadder: Laughter, if i remember correctly. He gave me the system, showed me the ropes, and set me loose on other wrestlers.
Who was your favorite Opponent to face in SLCW days?
Katheryn Blackadder: Probably Crul Nightfire. It was fun piledriving a guy twice or three times my size. To this day, he complains I was trying to break his neck.
Tyress: and were you trying to break his neck?
Katheryn Blackadder: He wrote that spot! I actually did fewer piledrivers than he'd wanted! I claim innocence!
How long have you been in SL wrestling?
Katheryn Blackadder: Over 4 1/2 years now. I made my debut at the first April Fools, Hardcore Rules in 2008 against Misaki Yumako.
Tyress: thats quite an opponent to face for your debut
Who Won?
Katheryn Blackadder: Misaki. She's always been my toughest opponent. Submission moves are my weakness.
What federations have you been in?
SLCW/DCWF
Who was your trainer(s)?
Katheryn Blackadder: Back in the beginning, we didn't have trainers, per se. It was more like, whoever had more experience was expected to train the newbies. Remember, SL wrestling was still in its infancy, and we were all feeling our way through it, figuring out what worked and what didn't. Still, again I have to give props to Crul, he was always willing to donate his time to help with training.
Tyress: those kind of people are rare today sadly.
Katheryn Blackadder: Indeed.
What color(s) are your in-ring attire?
Katheryn Blackadder: White with black spots. I was looking for a Jane of the Jungle type look. Sort of 50's era pin-up-ish. Sexy but not too... over-sexualized, if that makes sense.
Tyress: *nods*
What is the name of your finishers, and what are they?
Katheryn Blackadder: The Rock's finisher, the Rock Bottom, aka the reverse Russian leg sweep, aka the armhooklegsweep, aka the side sweep. But for me, it's call The Kat Bottom. What can I say, the DCWF was run by men and they wanted to talk about my bottom.
Tyress: hahahaha
What do you think makes your character special?
Katheryn Blackadder: That's a toughy. I never really thought my character was special, I just drew a crowd because I was pretty shameless about pestering my friends to come to my matches.
What have you accomplished in SL wrestling?
Katheryn Blackadder: I was the second inductee into the SLCW hall of fame after Waroop Bravin, and I've held the women's championship title. By default and/or dumb luck, I also had the tag team belt with Paula Wilcox in Devastation Inc. I was a replacement, but i helped defend the title twice so it counts. Behind the scenes, I helped build up the training program and was made Head of Training. After Alpin's departure, Eric Stuart took over and made me his Vice President, and after his departure, I rose to rank of President. Not too shabby for someone who came into the game knowing zilch about wrestling.
What would you consider the top moment of your career to date, and why?
Katheryn Blackadder: I think winning the women's title and being inducted into the Hall of Fame at Wrestlefest 1. It was a very emotional day.
Tyress: *nods* I bet it was
Do you have a dream tag team partner and/or stable?
Katheryn Blackadder: That's another tough question. I don't want to make anyone feel left out. But Misaki, as much as she's always been my toughest opponent, she's fantastic in tag team matches and would be a great partner. From the old days, Danielle Dawes would have been a great partner, too. It's my dream to convince her to come back to SL wrestling.
Do you have any dream achievements to accomplish in SL Wrestling?
Katheryn Blackadder: Oh goodness, I don't know. I've worked my way up from a noob who didn't know anything about wrestling, to owning and presiding over the longest running fed in SL wrestling. I'm not sure what's left.
Do you have any dream matches, or wish for any dream matches?
Katheryn Blackadder: That question is really hard. I've been out of the ring so long, and so many people have come and gone, I keep going back to the stalwarts, the people who've been here as long as I have. It'd be nice to win against Misaki a second time. I suppose that's the dream I've had the longest.
What have been your favorite 5 matches in SLCW/DCWF?
Katheryn Blackadder: This is going way back but one of my favorite matches that made me laugh and made me know this was what I wanted to do was Crul vs. Waroop back at the SLCW. They came out of the back brawling and never made it into the ring, they brawled outside the whole time and the match ended (if that's the right word since it never officially started) in a double dq. I'd never seen anything like it. Any match with Bazza, Jerico, and Mythil doing their "flippy shit" was fun to watch. This wasn't a match but a promo, but the time we made the video where MadMike brained Eric with a bedpan was a lot of fun, and a very popular video if I remember correctly. Horses and her Sidney bears have been fun, it was very funny seeing Sparky (or Sparkles Von Edward Qinworth as he prefers to be called) lose to a teddy bear. In fact, the whole gimmick of Sparky becoming Tara's valet is as funny of a transformation as watching Resin go from being a woman-hating he-man to Tara's valet. Does that count as 5?
Tyress: I say it does count to 5 lol
Who would you like to thank for being there during your adventures of SL wrestling?
Katheryn Blackadder: Alpin Criss for giving this frustrated neko housewife a chance instead of laughing me out of the gym, which is what I'd expected. Crul Nightfire for taking me under his wing when I needed training. Numbers Rossini for taking care of business and keeping the DCWF going during my recent hiatus, and for always being there when i need someone to talk to. Vince, Misaki, Paula, Horses for their dedication and innovations. Everyone who has made the DCWF what it is today, which is pretty damn amazing, in my opinion.
Who inspires you in SL wrestling and why?
Katheryn Blackadder: A lot of people. Anyone who has stayed with wrestling since the beginning, whether they're with the DCWF or not, if they've stayed with it for this long and are still enjoying what they're doing, that's awesome. And the innovators, those who take the NexGen system and do things with it I've never seen done, they blow my mind. And
Who inspires you in RL wrestling and why?
Katheryn Blackadder: The Fabulous Moolah and Awesome Kong. I don't watch wrestling on TV often, if at all, but I look up matches on YouTube and these ladies blow my mind. I love women who can kick ass and don't have to fit the pretty "Diva" stereotype.
Tyress: I totally Agree with that. i am not a fan of the Pretty " diva " gimmicks.
Has it been easy being the owner of a federation?
Katheryn Blackadder: No. lol
Is there any certain federation that you would love to have work with your federation?
Katheryn Blackadder: I think Give Back 2012 showed that we can work together, that we have become a "wrestling community." I would be happy to work with any of the feds involved again.
Any special matches you haven't booked yet that you would like to see?
Katheryn Blackadder: I have considered writing a storyline between Misaki and me. I haven't fleshed it out yet, but it keeps rolling around in the back of my head.
with Eric Leaving DCWF what was it that made the deciding factor to step up as the President over DCWF and keep it running?
Katheryn Blackadder: I didn't want to let people down. As they say, the show must go on. When Alpin left, it was a very tumultuous time. We were shut down for several months. By the time Eric stepped down, Numbers and I already were running the fed for the most part, and we didn't want to miss a step. So I took up the mantle and we kept going.
What would you consider the top 3 federations in SL, and why do you think so?
Katheryn Blackadder: Well, I've gotta say DCWF of course. We were first and we've survived our share of storm and strife. VWE I have to give props to. They've been around a long time now and kept us on our toes. Number 3 is harder to think of. Perhaps HAWX. The feminist in me loves to see a successful women's federation that isn't cat fights, poseballs, mats, erotic wrestling. That is inspiring to me.
What is your opinion of the SL wrestling community?
Katheryn Blackadder: I think it's great. I like that we can even say "wrestling community," Instead of "feds fighting tooth and nail to claim the top spot and get each other's audiences." That may be my rose-colored perception since I don't get out much, but things seem so much more friendly and less competitive than they used to be.
As we know, there's a lot of rumors in SL wrestling. Some are good, some are bad. What do you think causes these rumors?
Katheryn Blackadder: Well, friendlier or not, there's still going to be bad blood between individuals, and some people just enjoy causing drama. They thrive on it. That's not just in wrestling, but any community in SL. Or RL. Sadly it's human nature to drag other people down to make yourself look bigger.
QUESTIONS/
Ten questions game! I will say 10 names/words. Say the first thing that pops into your head.
1: top 5 Legends
A: Alpin Criss, Waroop Bravin, Vince easterwood,Mythil Woyseck,Misaki Yumako,

6: top holy Shit Moment
A: Oh my, there have been so many! Good holy shit or "wtf was that?" holy shit? All I can think of is the latter. Babies used as weapons in a hard core match, a Zamboni used as a weapon in a hard core match, Ari somehow ending up with his head in a horse's ass, Horses and her teddy bear obsession....and the heart punch where MadMike made Ranma spazz out.
7: Top funniest moment outside the ring in DCWF

What is the Main thing that your proud of with DCWF?
Katheryn Blackadder: The wrestlers.
what can you tell us about DCWF for those that has never been to DCWF?
Katheryn Blackadder: It's a lot of fun to watch, you'll be amazed what people can do in SL.
what do you think makes DCWF "unique"?
Katheryn Blackadder: The DCWF and its founders basically invented SL wrestling, they were innovators, and we try to keep that tradition alive, like with the development of the NexGen system.
what do you think is DCWF's Weakest side?
Katheryn Blackadder: Complacency. Sometimes we need a push, it's too easy to rest of our laurels, or the laurels of our founders. Everyone, including me, needs a kick in the butt occasionally.
where do you see DCWF being in 3 years from now?
Katheryn Blackadder: Hopefully, getting ready for Wrestlefest 8. A lot depends on where SL will be in 3 years, what changes they make. They set the boundaries, and we push them.
what is your advice to grab new fan's interest to your Federation?
Katheryn Blackadder: Talk about it. Tell your friends, tell strangers, word of mouth is powerful. We're coming up on wrestlefest 5, and I still talk to people who have never heard of wrestling in SL. Just get the word out that you even exist!
Warzone Comment:
Wednesday Warzone @ 3 pm slt. And since it's Halloween it'll be a "WTF Warzone."
Katheryn Blackadder: It's Halloween so you know there are going to be surprises :) Tricks and treats :D
Anything else you would like to say?
Katheryn Blackadder: I love the DCWF and everyone there. Nothing in SL has given me more joy or heartache. But it has been worth it.
